The EDGE Innovation Network primarily operates out of Innovation Centers that are collocated near customer and/or EDGE member centers of interest. These EICs are typically focused on either user needs or specific core capabilities.
User-focused EICs are located near customer centers of excellence where users come to work with EDGE members to accelerate delivery of new technologies and innovative capabilities.
At capability-focused EICs, integration efforts are directed toward a specific or core capability or need. Examples include: battle command; tactical wheeled vehicle C4ISR integration, training and testing, warrior systems technologies, and federal/civil technologies.
In addition, General Dynamics United Kingdom Limited has launched the EDGE® United Kingdom, a pioneering innovation centre for Britain’s knowledge-based industries, enabling rapid testing of new advances in technology by the Ministry of Defence, Britain’s leading universities, and high-tech small and medium size companies (SMEs).
